Our football package includes both NFL and College Football picks. For football we rate our picks as either 10 or 20 unit picks. We tend to have a few more of these 20 unit plays in the sport of football compared to other sports like basketball and baseball. This is because more often there are some great spots in the NFL & College where we can predict a team will give a home run like type effort or on the other hand be flat as a pancake.

Over the last 4 years we have averaged about 339 units of profit earned per season, which would break down to 33.9 units of profit based on a 1 unit scale. Compare those numbers on a 1 unit scale to other football handicappers and I guarantee you will find very few if any better than us.

Using those numbers from above a $10 unit bettor averages about a $100 bet per game, a $50 unit bettor averages about a $500 bet per game, and a $100 unit bettor averages about a $1000 bet per game. Once again these are profits earned PER season, not overall and the numbers include the bookmakers juice.

The full season package includes NFL preseason picks, NFL regular season picks, NFL playoffs, college football regular season picks, and of course college bowl picks. We average about 7 picks on a Saturday of college football action and around 5 picks on the Sunday NFL card. Sometimes we may find more, other times we will release less. It all just depends on how much value we see on the board for the day. We will always put out at least an opinion play on the Monday night football game and the during the week ESPN college football TV games. While we do like to fire in bets on a lot of games taking the philosophy of anything that has value long term is worth betting there are plenty of times when we will just have an opinion play on during the week TV games as the bookmakers do have a pretty good idea of what the line should be. If the game is lined properly betting either side is a losing proposition long term.

In college football we release both picks against the spread and on totals. Although 85% of the picks are against the college football betting line with all of the total bets being reserved for the TV games that have more volume and are more widely available. In the NFL we do release sides and totals as well, with 75% of the picks being against the NFL point spread and the other 25% going against the bookmakers total.

Our college football handicapping approach is based on our complex math model as well as situational analysis and injury information. We have a database going back to the 1983-84 NCAA football season with box scores and lines for every game. Based on that data we have created a computer program to generate a predicted box score for every game. Anytime are projection differs from the line by a certain percentage we have a possible college football pick with an edge. From there we take into account the situational factors such as how a team is playing currently, how they have done against the spread recently, there next game on deck, etc. We also look at the fundamentals of both team and opponents offensive and defense looking for edges. If we feel the team is in a good spot, there are no major injuries, and we have an edge against the line and fundamentally it becomes a play. Anyone not doing advanced techniques like this will struggle to win betting against the college football odds moving forward. The lines are just so tight these days.
