Another Saturday is upon us. As you can see on our college football lines page, a good number of games have seen significant line movement. Here’s a recap of some big movers.
Syracuse (+8) at South Florida – The ‘Cuse opened as 11 point underdogs at South Florida, but sharp money has brought the line all the way down to 8 points. The squares are playing the Bulls at about 3:1, which makes this a textbook case of reverse action.
Louisville (-17) vs. Memphis – The sharps and squares are both on the side of the home Cardinals. Louisville opened as 14 point faves against Memphis, but the line has been steamed up to 17 points.
Northern Illinois (-3 ½) vs. Temple – The Huskies opened as 1 ½ point favorites, and then was steamed up to 3 ½ points. There was some sharp buy back on Temple at 3 ½, but then some more sharp money on Northern Illinois has the kept the line at 3 ½ points. The public is playing the Huskies at nearly 2:1.
Western Michigan (+5 ½) at Ball State – The Broncos opened as 6 ½ point underdogs, but sharp money brought that down to 4 points. Then some sharp buy back on Ball State moved the line back up to 5 ½. The squares like Ball State at roughly 4:1.
Alabama (-6 ½) at South Carolina – The defending national champs opened as an 8 point road favorite, and sharp money on South Carolina took the line down to 6 ½. Alabama had some sharp buy back, which brought the line up to 7 points with some books. The public likes the Crimson Tide at better than 3:1.
Baylor (+1) vs. Texas Tech – These two Texas teams hook up in Dallas, TX. The Red Raiders opened as 1 point favorites, and after the line moved up to 2 ½, some sharp buy back on Baylor brought the line back to 1 point with a few books simply listing the game as a pick. The squares are backing the Baylor Bears at over 80%.
Texas A&M (+5) vs. Arkansas – This game takes place in Arlington, TX. The Razorbacks started as 6 ½ point favorites, and some early sharp money moved the line up to 8 points. Then sharp buy back on the Aggies brought the line back down to 5 points. The public is decidedly in favor of Arkansas at almost 95%.
Kentucky (+6) vs. Auburn – The Auburn Tigers opened as 8 ½ point road favorites against Kentucky, but the sharps have brought this down to 6 points. The squares are playing the Tigers at 85%, which means this game has some solid reverse action.
Arkansas State (-3 ½) at North Texas – North Texas opened as 1 ½ point favorites, but injuries to the Mean Green has brought in a large amount of sharp money on Arkansas State, who is now a 3 ½ point road favorite. The squares are responsible for some of this line movement, too, playing Arkansas State at almost 95%.
