What a difference a man makes: The 5-3 Green Bay Packers will play host to the Philadelphia Eagles, but NFL oddsmakers at 5dimes find the game to be a PICK EM due to the injury of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is nursing a fractured collarbone, which leaves the Packers without their playmaker. In his stead will be Seneca Wallace.
Wallace is 6-15 as a starter in the NFL and he has lost nine of his last 10 starts. That gives the 4-5 Eagles hope of defeating one of the toughest home teams in the league, and the Eagles have been great on the road anyway this season, having won four of their five contests away from Philadelphia.
But Green Bay is not the only team without a starting QB. Philadelphia is without Michael Vick and will be starting Nick Foles. Foles threw for seven TDs last week and put up a 158.3 QB rating and he had 406 yards in the 49-20 win over Oakland last week. After those epic performances, it leaves Eagles fans to wonder if Vick will reclaim his starting job once healthy.
Expect a lot of the offense to take place on the ground, though. Philadelphia’s LeSean McCoy has 777 rushing yards on the season, but has struggled of late with just 177 in the last three games. Philly will look to get him back on track, while the Packers counter with Eddie Lacy who has 596 yards on the season as a rookie.
The Packers rank 5th in the league in rush defense, though, so McCoy will have his difficulties advancing the ball against the tough defensive line. The Eagles may have won just 4 of 20 all-time in Green Bay, but this week offers a chance at a rare victory with Rodgers on the sideline.
Philadelphia Betting Trends: OVER 4-0 in last 4 after allowing 350 total yards or more in previous game; OVER 6-0 in last 6 road games; 1-7-1 ATS in last 9 after allowing more than 350 yards in previous game.
Green Bay Betting Trends: 5-0 ATS vs teams with losing records; UNDER 7-0 in last 7 after accumulating more than 150 rushing yards in previous game; 6-0 ATS in last 6 Week 10 games.
Head-to-head: UNDER 5-0 in last 5 meetings.
