Toledo is aiming for its fourth straight win, as it comes off a 20-19 overtime victory over Western Michigan as 5.5-point road favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total of 62. The Rockets have split their two all-time meetings against the Cyclones, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 7 NCAA football betting picks, as they captured a one-point home win in 2007. Offensively, the team is averaging 516 total yards per game, which is the best such number in the Mid-American Conference. Toledo is 3-4 SU and 4-3 ATS as underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points since 2012.
The Rockets are being led offensively by quarterback Logan Woodside, as he took over for Phillip Ely on Sept. 6, which is important to consider when looking over the NCAA football odds page. Toledo’s offensive line has combined to start 122 games, with four senior starters returning from a year ago, including two All-MAC recipients in Greg Mancz and Jeff Myers. It’s important to point out that this school was picked to win the West Division before the season started.
Iowa State has dropped four of its first five games due to facing a schedule with its opponents combining for a 22-3 overall record, which happens to be the highest win percentage (92.0) in the country in that all-important category. The Cyclones will need a big game out of tight end E.J. Bibbs, who has recorded at least one reception in 17-straight games, as he comes off season highs in catches and receiving yards in a 37-20 defeat to the Oklahoma State Cowboys as 16.5-point road underdogs last Saturday. Iowa State is 4-12 SU and 6-8 ATS at home the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 8-7 in that situation.
The Cyclones have won or tied the turnover battle in their last three games, and have a plus-three differential during that span. Under new offensive coordinator Mark Mangino, Iowa State has improved in each game on its schedule thus far, while it has put up points in 11-of-12 trips in the red zone.
Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the UNDER is 8-0 in the Cyclones’ last eight games as home favorites of 3.5 to 7 points.
