TCU leaves the Lonestar State for just the second time during the 2014 campaign, as it comes off a 41-20 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats as 6.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while capturing the statistical battle for the eighth time in nine affairs. The Horned Frogs have opened with a record of 8-1 or better for the fourth time in the last seven seasons under head coach Gary Patterson, which is important to consider when making your Week 12 college football predictions, as he’s won both of his previous battles with Kansas. TCU is 5-1 SU and 1-5 ATS as road favorites the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 5-1 in those six opportunities.
The Horned Frogs are 23-7 SU in road games since 2009, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting lines, as that represents the fourth-best mark in the country. TCU’s offense has taken off with Trevone Boykin under center and two new coordinators this year, as it ranks third in the nation in total scoring and yards per game. The team is second in the country with four different 100-yard rushers this year.
Kansas will try to win back-to-back games for the first time this season, as it remains home after picking up a 34-14 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones as two-point home underdogs last week, while going UNDER the betting total for the seventh time in its last eight affairs. The Jayhawks will need another big performance from running backs Corey Avery and Tony Pierson, as the duo combined for 204 yards and two touchdowns versus the Cyclones. Kansas is 0-8 SU and 5-3 ATS as underdogs of 21.5 to 31 points the last two-plus seasons.
The Jayhawks are 3-45 SU in their last 48 Big 12 Conference games, but they’ve been improve offensively since interim coach Clint Bowen elected to start Michael Cummings under center. He has thrown for five touchdowns and compiled a solid 143.9 passer rating in his last three games. It’s still important to point out that the squad hasn’t captured consecutive conference wins in the same season since 2008.
Sports bettors will likely back the Jayhawks due to the Horned Frogs being 9-12 ATS as favorites since 2012.
