The Houston Texans are coming off maybe the biggest win in their organization’s history, a 34-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Arian Foster exploded for a career game, Matt Schaub didn’t have to work too hard, and the defense kept the Colts at bay.
The biggest injury news of the week is that the Green Bay Packers will be without running back Ryan Grant. He is out for the season with an ankle injury. The news had little impact on the NFL spreads. The Packers opened a 14-point favorite and it has gone down to 13. How much this effects the Packers will remain to be seen. The Packers are a pass-first team, but Grant was the go-to guy in the backfield, especially when the weather got bad later in the season. Brandon Jackson had 63 yards on 18 carries as Grant’s replacement last week, and may be able to fill the void. Here is a look at some of the significant injuries from the NFL injury report for week 2.
1. New Orleans Saints, 1-0 (1) – The Saints earned a hard fought victory over the Vikings. The offense ended up being balanced, but expect to see Sean Payton run the ball more often in the first half of games. Garrett Hartley can’t afford miss easy kicks. The New Orleans defense was impressive.
