The Seattle Seahawks (1-0) pulled off one of the biggest shockers in Week 1 of the NFL season and will find out if they can duplicate that feat on the road when they visit the Denver Broncos (0-1) on Sunday. NFL picks handicappers should now that the Seahawks are 0-9 straight-up and against the spread in their last nine road games against opponents other than St. Louis and will have quite a challenge here against the favored Broncos (-3/3.5 depending where you check your NFL odds) off a 24-17 loss at Jacksonville last week.
The biggest injury news of the week is that the Green Bay Packers will be without running back Ryan Grant. He is out for the season with an ankle injury. The news had little impact on the NFL spreads. The Packers opened a 14-point favorite and it has gone down to 13. How much this effects the Packers will remain to be seen. The Packers are a pass-first team, but Grant was the go-to guy in the backfield, especially when the weather got bad later in the season. Brandon Jackson had 63 yards on 18 carries as Grant’s replacement last week, and may be able to fill the void. Here is a look at some of the significant injuries from the NFL injury report for week 2.
With one week in the books, the picture gets a little clearer on who can score. Here is a handicapping breakdown and quick look at the totals for Week 2 in the National Football League:
The San Francisco 49ers look to start a run for the 2010 NFC West division title when they visit the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The 49ers have not made the playoffs since 2002, which is also the same year they last won the NFC West. The Seahawks followed the dominance of San Francisco by winning the division four straight years from 2004-2007 but are simply looking to turn things around under first-year head coach Pete Carroll.
