1. Alabama Crimson Tide, 2-0 (1) – The Tide rolled over Penn State Saturday night. Mark Ingram’s injury hasn’t slowed down a balanced, powerful offensive attack. Trent Richardson ran especially well, totaling 144 rushing yards and averaging 6.5 yards per carry. Alabama should have no trouble with Duke, but the schedule gets tougher with a trip to Arkansas followed by a visit from Florida. Last week: Defeated Penn State, 24-3. This week: at Duke (1-1).

Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech – all ranked teams – fell on Saturday.

The Colorado Buffaloes head west to take on the Cal Golden Bears this Saturday. The Buffs will be joining the Pac 10 conference two years from now, so this is a preview of things to come. Whether or not Dan Hawkins will still be the Colorado coach remains to be seen, but getting a big win against Cal would make his hot seat much cooler.

We are expecting a shootout tonight with a lot of points, take the Over as our Free College Football Pick for Friday
The Houston Cougars look for revenge Friday night when they host the UTEP Miners. The Miners shocked the Cougars last season 58-41, behind Donald Buckram’s 262 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Buckram was held out of last week’s game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff to rest his bruised knee, but he’s ready to run in this one.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (1) – Alabama had no trouble with a weak, week 1 opponent. This week is a different story as the Tide welcomes the Penn State Nittany Lions into Tuscaloosa. Nick Saban vs. Joe Paterno. Will Mark Ingram play? Does it matter? Last week: Defeated San Jose State, 48-3. This week: vs. Penn State (1-0).

The UCLA Bruins travel to Manhattan, Kansas to do battle with the Kansas State Wildcats this Saturday. UCLA is coming off a moderately successful 2009 campaign, finishing 7-6 after defeating Temple in the EagleBank Bowl. Kansas State also saw improvement last season, ending up 6-6 but unable to play in a bowl game since two wins came against I-AA teams.
