The Pac 10 has added two teams to become the Pac 12. Utah joins the conference from the Mountain West and Colorado joins from the Big 12. At least the Pac 12 had the decency to change their name unlike the Big Ten which now has 12 teams and the Big 12 which has 10 teams now. The addition of the two teams has caused the Pac 12 to form two divisions and allow them them have a championship game. Washington, Washington St, Oregon, Oregon St, Stanford, and California make up the Northern Division. USC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona St, Utah and Colorado make up the Southern division which we will cover in a different article.
In my last article I discussed the top 5 teams in the now 10 team Big 12. Now I will discuss the other 5 teams. Though they aren’t as talented as top tier teams, teams like Baylor, Texas Tech and Kansas St are talented enough to play spoiler and surprise some teams.
The Big 12 lost two of its founding members when Nebraska left for the Big Ten and Colorado left for the Pac 12. Despite losing those teams, the now 10 team Big 12 still has a lot of talent and the conference champion has a good shot of playing for the BCS National Championship depending on what happens in the other power conferences.
The Virginia Tech Hokies have been on a big run. Since losing their first two games of the season, Frank Beamer’s team has been playing great football, winning eight in a row. They head to Miami to battle the Canes this Saturday afternoon.
The betting lines for Saturday’s games have seen some movement.
