St. Louis is searching to win three straight games for the first time in four years taking on the Lions after going 1-15 last season.  “If we continue on the track we’re on and we continue to improve each week, I think we can definitely compete for this division,” rookie quarterback Sam Bradford said.  Both of the Rams previous wins have come at Edward Jones Dome and will now look to win on the road after benefiting from playing three of their first four games in St. Louis.  After being outscored 701-280 in the second half over their their last 50 games, the squad outscored the Redskins and Seahawks by a 26-3 margin over the last two weeks.  St. Louis is 3-1 ATS as an underdog this season and the total is 1-3 O/U in those games.

Mike Vick gets the start for the Eagles on Sunday and the birds are 6.5 point road favorites
Two different starting quarterbacks will take the field on Sunday for each side when the Philadelphia Eagles (0-1) visit the Detroit Lions (0-1).  The Eagles will turn to Michael Vick after Kevin Kolb suffered a concussion in a 27-20 home loss to Green Bay last week while Shaun Hill gets the nod for the Lions as the replacement for Matthew Stafford, who injured his shoulder on a sack by Chicago’s Julius Peppers in the second quarter of a 19-14 setback.

NFL Injury Report For Week 2

Matt Moore (Concussion) has been upgraded to probable this week on the NFL Injury Report
The biggest injury news of the week is that the Green Bay Packers will be without running back Ryan Grant. He is out for the season with an ankle injury.  The news had little impact on the NFL spreads. The Packers opened a 14-point favorite and it has gone down to 13. How much this effects the Packers will remain to be seen. The Packers are a pass-first team, but Grant was the go-to guy in the backfield, especially when the weather got bad later in the season.  Brandon Jackson had 63 yards on 18 carries as Grant’s replacement last week, and may be able to fill the void.  Here is a look at some of the significant injuries from the NFL injury report for week 2.

Football Picks: Bears Vs Lions Betting Preview

The Bears are 6.5 point home favorites today over the Lions
This will be the first true test of the new Mike Martz offense for the Chicago Bears as they host the Detroit Lions in the regular-season opener between two NFC North foes.  Chicago’s offense was not broken against Detroit last season, scoring a combined 85 points in sweeping two meetings.  But a revamped Lions defense could pose some problems for the Bears (-6.5 on the NFL betting odds), especially after they scored only 46 points in four preseason games with Martz’s new scheme.
