The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals hook up this Sunday for an AFC North divisional battle. Of course the game of the day is Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore, but wiseguys haven’t forgotten about the other divisional match-up.
The Baltimore Ravens (1-1) hope to get back on track offensively when they visit the Cleveland Browns (0-1) in their home opener on Sunday. The Ravens (-11 on the NFL point spreads) have scored just two touchdowns combined in two games so far this season while the Browns are averaging two touchdowns per game.
The biggest injury news of the week is that the Green Bay Packers will be without running back Ryan Grant. He is out for the season with an ankle injury. The news had little impact on the NFL spreads. The Packers opened a 14-point favorite and it has gone down to 13. How much this effects the Packers will remain to be seen. The Packers are a pass-first team, but Grant was the go-to guy in the backfield, especially when the weather got bad later in the season. Brandon Jackson had 63 yards on 18 carries as Grant’s replacement last week, and may be able to fill the void. Here is a look at some of the significant injuries from the NFL injury report for week 2.
The Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) are coming off a thrilling home win on Monday Night Football and visit the Cleveland Browns (0-1) off a disappointing road loss. Almost 12 million viewers tuned in to watch the Chiefs hold off San Diego 21-14 in their regular-season opener, and the number will not even be close to that against a Browns team that could not finish off Tampa Bay last week.
With one week in the books, the picture gets a little clearer on who can score. Here is a handicapping breakdown and quick look at the totals for Week 2 in the National Football League:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns do not have much recent history playing against each other, as they have met only twice during the regular season over the last decade. But new Cleveland starting quarterback Jake Delhomme knows all about the Bucs from his days with the Carolina, going 9-2 vs. Tampa Bay as the Panthers starting QB.
