Boston won back-to-back games for the first time this series and the teams are headed to Los Angeles for Game 6 of the 2010 NBA Finals. The Lakers have to win both, and they have shown in this postseason that they are capable of dominating at home. They are 9-1 in home games in the 2010 playoffs, and they are looking to add two more wins to this record.
Zig-zagging along. The Lakers and Celtics keep trading wins, and Boston’s latest victory came courtesy of “Big Baby”. Davis scored nine of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Celtics tied the series with a 96-89 win Thursday night in Boston.
5Dimes has the Lakers as the favorite to win the series and that only makes sense. The Finals have essentially been reduced to a best-of-three series, and the Lakers close it out with two straight home games.
Kevin Garnett had a vintage “KG” game, but the rest of the Celtics let him down and didn’t give him the victory. Derek Fisher had a vintage “Money” game, and it was enough to beat Boston.
On a night of hard-fought yet sloppy basketball, the Lakers went up 2-1 in the finals and gained back home-court advantage.
This is why I hate the 2-3-2 format. I’m neither a Celtics nor a Lakers fan, but I don’t like that the team with home-court advantage in the NBA Finals gets put in this situation. The Lakers lost Game 2 Sunday and now have to steal one in Boston in one of the next three games.
Lakers Vs Celtics Game 2 Preview
The Celtics need to pick it up if they don’t want to fly back to Boston down 2-0. They didn’t show enough hustle in Thursday’s game and were outmatched by a more physical Lakers team. Kobe Bryant drove to the basket all night and the Celtics weren’t able to stop him. He ended up with 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The NBA Finals are about to start. Needless to say, that means that there are a whole lot of props available for sports bettors to invest in. Oddsmakers are getting increasingly creative, so you can bet on pretty much any aspect of the series. With so much available, there inevitably are at least a few that are more than a little interesting. Here’s a look at a handful of the props that stand out in my eyes as being worth a closer look. For simplicity I’ll take all of these props from Bodog, but most online books are offering a wide range of their own:
The 2010 NBA Finals are about to get underway. It’s not the Kobe – LeBron matchup that virtually everyone in the world outside of Boston wanted to see, but a rematch of the classic 2008 finals is a pretty good consolation prize. With a long break between games for both teams leading into this series the media has been forced to fill a lot of pages without a game to write about. Not surprisingly, a lot of what they have focused on isn’t likely to be a massive factor in the series, and serves only as a distraction for serious bettors. Here are five of the more overhyped storylines that the media is focusing too much time and ink on:
With four teams left in the NBA finals the first game of the NBA championship series is about three weeks away. Both the Eastern and Western Conference Finals are going into game three. So far the teams with home court advantage are up 2-0, and the championship series is likely to be between the Lakers and the Celtics.
