The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-1 ATS as a road underdog since 2010

Philadelphia will look to snap its three-game losing streak, as it comes off a disappointing 30-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons as three-point home favorites, while getting out-gained in each of those contests.  Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is hearing a lot of criticism in the media over his play, with the team underachieving with the amount of talent that’s found on the roster.  “I think there’s a lot of things that I can do better,” stated Vick this week.  Philadelphia is 5-1 ATS as a road underdog the last two-plus seasons.

The Eagles are tied for 29th in the league in points per game, which is very surprising due to the amount of balance the offense has, ranking 15th in passing and 10th in rushing yards per game.  Philadelphia should pound he ball with running back LeSean McCoy, who will be going up against the NFL’s 31st rush defense.  He has gained 504 yards on the ground in 127 carries.

New Orleans is looking for its third win in four games, but it’s still important to note that the franchise has lost the statistical battle in four of its last five contests.  The Saints have allowed 400-plus yards on the defensive end in seven consecutive games, which has become a major topic of conversation around the practice field.  “I’ve got to do a better job of preparing our football team,” stated Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt.  The unit is allowing 30.9 points and 474.4 yards per game.  New Orleans is 8-2 ATS as a home favorite of seven or fewer points.

The Saints are 10-15 all-time in this NFC series, but they did manage to capture a 48-22 win as 2.5-point road favorites on Nov. 20, 2009.  New Orleans has won 11 straight November contests and quarterback Drew Brees will need to target wide receiver Marques Colston, who leads the team with 40 receptions for 580 yards and five  touchdowns.  It’s also important to note that the franchise has won seven consecutive games on Monday Night Football.

Sports bettors will likely back the Eagles due to their 14-6 ATS record after a double-digit loss at home, while the favorite is 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in this series.
