Ohio State is participating in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge for the 11th consecutive year, as it looks to improve upon its even 5-5 mark in the event.  The Buckeyes have won their first four games of the 2012-13 college basketball season, while they’ve gone OVER the total in their only two opportunities.  Head coach Thad Matta hopes he has an edge in this game, as the program’s video coordinator is Greg Paulus, who played at Duke from 2006-09.  Ohio State is 8-4 ATS in November over the last two-plus seasons, which is important to consider when making your college basketball picks against the spread on Wednesday night.

The Buckeyes have won four consecutive games in this event, which includes a 85-63 win over the Blue Devils last year.  Ohio State is 7-15 all-time when going against the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, as it will lean heavily on the experience of Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas, who could both join the 1,000-point club this season.  The team jumped out to an 11-0 lead in last year’s meeting, with Craft and Thomas combining to score 35 points.

Duke will try to push its record to 7-0 for the third straight season, as it comes off an impressive 76-71 win over the Louisville Cardinals as one-point neutral-site underdogs, while going OVER the total in four of its last five contests.  The Blue Devils definitely have revenge on their minds entering this affair.  “Sometimes you just get your butt kicked,” stated Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski.  The program is 11-2 all-time in this event, including a 4-0 mark when playing in Cameron Indoor Stadium.  Duke is 3-10 ATS as home favorites of 6.5 to 9 points.

The Blue Devils have five games averaging in double figures, with senior forward Mason Plumlee leading the way in scoring 19.7 points and grabbing 10.0 rebounds per game.  Duke has won 55 of its last 56 games in the month of November dating back to the start of the 2004-05 season, with its lone loss against Ohio State last year.  The starting lineup has accounted for 91.1 percent of the team’s scoring this season.

Sports bettors will likely back the Buckeyes due to their 4-0 ATS mark versus ACC opponents, while the Blue Devils are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 home games.
