Denver bounced back from its first loss of the season in picking up a 41-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals as eight-point home favorites last week, as it won the statistical battle by 353 yards.  The Broncos continue to be led by quarterback Peyton Manning, which is important to consider when making your Week 6 NFL betting picks, as he’s thrown for 12 touchdowns and just three interceptions in producing a 109.0 rating under center.  He’ll certainly be challenged in facing a stop unit that allows opponents to gain just 320.8 yards per game.  Denver is 21-3 SU and 17-6 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Broncos haven’t been very balance offensively in the early going this year, as they rank 29th in the league in averaging just 79.5 yards per game on the ground, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NFL betting odds page.  Denver would love to have Knowshon Moreno back, especially since former Wisconsin Badgers star Montee Ball is expected to miss time with a painful groin injury.

New York lands in a difficult spot to try and snap a four-game losing streak, which includes a 31-0 blowout defeat to the San Diego Chargers as seven-point road underdogs last week—losing the statistical battle by 288 yards.  Jets head coach Rex Ryan continues to stand behind second-year quarterback Geno Smith, but he completed just 4 of 12 passes for 27 yards and an interception before being benched in favor of Michael Vick.  New York is 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS versus AFC West opponents the last two-plus seasons.

The Jets really need offseason acquisition Eric Decker to breakthrough on the field, but the former Denver Broncos wide receiver has been hampered with a nagging hamstring injury since the preseason.  New York could endure a long day if its pass defense doesn’t improve against Manning, as the group is tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars in giving up the second-most passing touchdowns in the league.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 7-1 in the Broncos’ last eight October affairs.
