Denver is saying it isn’t looking past Kansas City in hopes of winning its sixth consecutive game, which includes a 30-23 victory over the San Diego Chargers as 7.5-point home favorites in Week 11. “What I do know is it’s a rivalry game, you can throw records right out the window,” stated Broncos defensive tackle Justin Bannan. The Broncos will need their defense to continuing with its strong play, as it allows just 312.8 yards per game. Denver is 2-0-1 ATS versus division opponents this year, with the OVER going 2-1 in those contests.
The Broncos have played a very soft schedule over the last five games, with those opponents possessing a combined 20-30 record. Denver quarterback Peyton Manning has thrown for at least three touchdowns in six of his last seven games, which will continue to be important, considering that starting running back Willis McGahee is likely out until the end of the AFC playoffs. On the other side of the ball, linebacker Von Miller has become a special play, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors against the Chargers.
Kansas City is coming off a 28-6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals as three-point home underdogs, as it has now lost seven consecutive games, while failing to win the statistical battle in four of the last five. “We know we have to fight,” commented Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel. “That’s what I told them.” The Chiefs have lost all five of their games inside Arrowhead Stadium this year, while posting a 1-4 ATS mark in those affairs. Kansas City is 0-3 ATS versus AFC West opponents this year, which is important to consider when making your NFL picks against the spread on Sunday.
The Chiefs own a 6-6 all-time home record against the Broncos when playing in November, while winning 15 of the last 22 regular season meetings inside this venue. Kansas City is averaging 12.0 points per game during its losing streak, as the offense will likely be led by quarterback Brady Quinn, who spent the last two seasons as a backup in the Mile High City.
Sports bettors will likely back the Chiefs due to the underdog being 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in this series.

The Denver defense is going to dominate the game on Sunday. Brady Quinn just doesn’t have what it takes to be a starting NFL QB, and Miller is going to bother him all day long. Even though it looks like Denver will control this one from the start, I still want to see how this divisional game plays out. Unfortunately I’ll be working my shift at DISH tomorrow, so I’m going to record it on my DISH Hopper. I love that it has a 2TB hard drive to hold all the games I record while I’m working. The Bronco defense should force a lot of turnovers tomorrow, and help the Denver win big. 30-10 Broncos.
