The Indianapolis Colts sit atop the AFC South at 6-2 and are expected to improve to 7-2 according to NFL oddsmakers at 5dimes who favor the Colts by 10.5-points over the visiting 3-6 St. Louis Rams.
The Colts are going to try to continue to make its Superbowl push despite losing stud receiver Reggie Wayne for the season. Fortunately, the real tests might not arrive until the playoffs as the Colts face only two more teams this season that reached last year’s postseason.
Indianapolis is averaging 121.8 yards on the ground this season, but has managed just 88 per game over the last three.
Trent Richardson has been a bit of a disappointment since being acquired in Week 3, but he’s in just his second season and the Colts are banking on his acquisition paying dividends as it builds around Richardson and quarterback Andrew Luck.
Luck has thrown for 1,845 yards on the season with a 58.3 percent completion ratio, and he’s thrown 13 TDs to just three interceptions. His QB rating is not sky high, though at 91.5, due to 19 sacks. Luck has rushed for an additional 183 yards on 28 carries, including 10 carries for first-downs.
St. Louis has struggled badly offensively this season, ranking in the bottom-third of both passing and rushing yardage, and the defense hasn’t been particularly good giving up 220.6 yards per game via the pass this season.
The Rams have lost three straight games to Carolina, Seattle and Tennessee and sitting at 4th in the NFC West, the team is all but out of contention for a playoff berth this season.
St Louis Trends: OVER 4-0 in last 4 after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in previous game; 4-0 ATS in last 4 in Week 10; OVER 5-0 in last 5 in NOV.
Indianapolis Trends: 4-0 ATS in last 4 home games vs teams with losing road records; 9-1 ATS vs teams with losing records; 6-1 ATS in last 7 after allowing more than 350 total yards in previous game.
