NFL Super Bowl Lines

Okay, as of now, the Pats at favored by plus-12. That down one point. The cause may by the Brady foot cast that Brady was in a few days ago. Brady has a minor high ankle sprain and two weeks to recover from it. I could recover from something like that in row weeks, so I imagine an athlete like Brady who has the finest medical care in the world should be okay and 100%.

The Pats are 12-points favorites! Really—12-points? History—New England has won three Super Bowls over the past six years. The margin of victory in each was three points. That’s right—three points. Which makes me ask—12-points on the spread?

True, the Pats have been an offensive juggernaut. But the margin of victory has diminished recently. In their final regular season game, they beat the New York football Giants by a mere three-points. They’ve won their playoff games this season by 11 and nine points.

Perhaps everyone is expecting Eli Manning to implode. Okay, it could happen (again). Be he’s led his team to three straight playoff victories, including a 23- 20 OT win over Green Bay. Manning may implode but he’s not shown any signs. If anyone has, it’s Brady who had a tough game versus the Chargers.

The Pats first Super Bowl appearance was a 46- 10 drubbing by the Bears. That happened years ago—1986. The team has come a long way.

I think there are a few things that influence the 12-point spread.

First, it’s the well balanced, as of late, Pat’s attack.

Second, it’s the tough Pat’s Red Zone “D. The Chargers could not score a TD in the AFC Championship game.

Third, the Pat’s extremely deep receiving corps. The best in the NFL. Including Randy Moss, the best receiver.

Fourth, the Pat’s QB. Brady is the best in the league.

Fifth, the Pats have the best coach in the NFL.

But, the Giants have a good secondary, Manning is playing well and coach Tom Coughlin is no slouch. The club also has a decent running game.

Don’t count the Giants out. They look dangerous.

Do you think the Patriots will win? Can they cover? Are the Giants the Pats that beat the Rams a bunch of years ago?

I’m betting on the Pats if the spread goes to 10 or less. But that’s me.
