Both the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals have had their share of pre-season problems. The Bengals may have put an end to one problem, while the Browns have seen a new one surface.
Bengals DT Matthias Askew, who was arrested last month for resisting arrest, was released by the team today. He’s one of five Bengal players to recently get in trouble with either the law or the NFL.
Today the Browns suspended center Alonzo Ephraim for the first four games of the season. Ephraim, who was signed recently to replace the injured LeCharles Bentley, was suspended for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. Ephraim may still participate in practices and pre-season games. He’ll be activated on Oct 2. Bentley is out for the entire season.
Update on T.O.– Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens was on the practice field today in pads for the first time in 14 days. Do you think Bill Parcells was smiling, scowling or wincing? T.O. may play in his first 2006 pre-season game this weekend.
