Patriots Jets AFC Playoff Preview
The New England Patriots have dominated the Buffalo Bills with Tom Brady under center

New England responded in a big way after suffering its second loss of the season, as it came away with a 43-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals as 2.5-point home underdogs last week, while going OVER the betting total for a second consecutive affair.  Patriots signal-caller Tom Brady enjoyed his best game of the 2014 campaign, which is important to consider when making your Week 6 pro football picks, as he threw for a season-high 292 yards and two touchdowns.  New England is 2-4 SUATS as road favorites of three or fewer points the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 4-2 in those six opportunities.

The Patriots are going to be a popular selection at such a low price on the pro football odds page, considering Brady has racked up 54 touchdown passes in 24 career games in this AFC East rivalry.  New England has won eight of his last nine starts in this series when played in Buffalo, including a 23-21 triumph last September.  It’s important to point out that the franchise has dropped two of three games played away from Gillette Stadium this year.

Buffalo will try to win back-to-back games for the second time this season, as it returns home after a 17-14 victory over the Detroit Lions as 4.5-point underdogs, while going UNDER the betting total for a fifth time to start the year.  The Bills are being led by journeyman quarterback Kyle Orton, who replaced EJ Manuel last week and completed 30 of 43 passes for 308 yards with a touchdown and a single interception.  Buffalo is 7-8 SUATS in games with a betting line of +3 to -3 the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 11-4 in that situation.

The Bills need to run the ball better in hopes of pulling off an upset against one of their biggest rivals, as they’ve averaged just 77.3 rushing yards over their last three games after combining to ramble for 306 in their first two affairs.  Buffalo will also need to bracket New England tight end Rob Gronkowski on the other side of the ball, as he’s managed to catch nine touchdowns in six games played in this series.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 8-2 in the Patriots’ last 10 games played in Weeks 5 through 9.
