Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals tips off at 8 PM (CT) tonight, and Bovada offers a host of player prop bets we are going to take a look at. We will focus here on the point total betting and the assist figures of Houston’s backcourt, but Bovada offers over 100 total player props bets for bettors to sink their teeth into.
That said, let us discern the Over/Under on scoring totals for the star players in this series.
All props c/o Bovada.lv
Stephen Curry Over/Under 26.5 points
Stephen Curry attempted only 15 field goals in Game 1, but that was mostly because the Kevin Durant matchup at the 3-spot was so juicy. Curry racked up eight assists while connecting on 8 of 15 from the field for 18 points in his 35 minutes of play. With the way Klay Thompson shot the ball, Curry was not called upon so heavily for his offense. We are going to expect a similar development in Game 2, and while Curry will likely go over 20, he won’t surpass 26 points. UNDER.
Klay Thompson Over/Under 21.5 points
Thompson had 28 points on 9 of 18 shooting in Game 1, as many open looks came to him as a result of Durant being doubled. That likely will continue, and we are going to go with Thompson putting together another nice game. He can be inconsistent at times, but with so much focus on Durant, those three-point looks are likely going to be there again. 15 triples attempted is a lot, and even if he does not attempt quite that many, we think he goes for about 25 points tonight. OVER.
Kevin Durant Over/Under 29.5 points
Houston really has no answer for Durant defensively. He shot 14 of 27 and 3 of 6 from three-point range to finish with 37 points. Mike D’Antoni may try different defenders on him, but Houston really has no one on its roster capable of slowing the Slim Reaper. Durant goes over 30, again. OVER.
Draymond Green Over/Under 12 points
Draymond Green attempted only five field goals in Game 1, and he hit just one of those. His role offensively is not to produce huge scoring numbers, but rather to serve as a high-post facilitator. That showed with his nine assists. Dray is more likely to record double-figure assists than double-figure points, and for that reason, we like the UNDER here.
James Harden Over/Under 32.5 points
James Harden is on a mission to defeat the high-powered Warriors with his own offensive prowess, and he had a good game in Game 1, despite the loss. Harden finished 14 of 24 from the field and 5 of 9 from three, to score 41 points in his 35 minutes of play. We expect another 40-point game from Harden, despite the fact we did favor the Warriors in our game preview here at Maddux Sports. OVER.
Eric Gordon Over/Under 15.5 points
Eric Gordon scored 15 in Game 1, and we expect a repeat performance, which makes this one a little too tough to call— make this a PUSH.
Chris Paul Over/Under 21.5 points
Chris Paul scored 23 points in Game 1, shooting 8 of 17 from the field. Paul also had three assists, but we expect him to play a larger role facilitating, as he and Harden try to get more help from their collection of rather decent teammates. Clint Capela was 6 of 7 from the field, and with Paul focusing on dump offs and setting up the big man, it is likely that both he and PJ Tucker score more this game. That means Paul likely scores 18-21 points while recording more dimes. Make this another PUSH.
James Harden Over/Under 8.5 assists
James Harden had seven assists in Game 1, and we expect 5 to 7 again in this game. Let us go with the UNDER, simply because it feels more probable and safe.
Chris Paul Over/Under 7 assists
Paul had just three assists in Game 1, and it was a loss, which means it is likely he changes his approach in Game 2. Paul will go for at least 7 assists, with the probability of a 10+ assist game rather high. OVER.
