In the NBA, things can turn around quickly. Not only during a game but in terms of who’s on top, which team is surging and which a slacking off. Here’s what’s going on with some of the top teams in the NBA.
The Celtics: Boston looked golden but now they’re looking kind of silver and maybe even bronze. They’re in the midst of their first losing streak, finding themselves unable to maintain leads going into the home stretch. There offense is in tatters lately. Piece, Allen Garnett and company have to get it together.
Mavericks: Dallas has spun off seven wins in a row and for perhaps the first time all season are playing tough, solid “D. Their last loss was on December 27 versus the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Lakers: Winners of 10 of their last 11 and six straight, the Los Angeles Lakers are certainly on a roll. They hammered the Hornets this week 109- 80 for their fourth straight win. Five guys scored in double figures in that win. They hit 55% from the floor, including 43% from downtown!
Suns: The team from Phoenix has risen from the ashes and is on a run of their own, showing great defense and offense. Although Utah had their number the other night as they beat them 108- 86, the club was without Nash, Marion and Hill. Center Amare Stoudmire has been a dominant presence in the frontcourt. They have the highest average point per game at 109.8.
Pistons: Detroit is showing stamina woes of late. In their last six they are three and three, including a humiliating loss to the Knicks where they scored only 65 points. They also lost to Dallas 86- 102.
