Denver had its four-game win streak snapped in suffering a 105-103 loss to the Utah Jazz as three-point road underdogs last time out, while going OVER the total for the first time in three contests. “You can learn from every game,” stated Nuggets guard Andre Iguodala. He was ejected from that particular contest in the third quarter, as the team squandered a 16-point lead. Denver is 2-1 ATS as a road favorite of three points or less this season, with the OVER cashing in two of those contests.
The Nuggets are going to receive a lot of attention on the pro basketball odds page, considering they’ve won 19 of the last 26 head-to-head meetings in this Western Conference series since the 2005-06 campaign, including a 6-5 mark in the Golden State. Denver is getting tremendous production out of small forward Kenneth Faried, who scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds against the Jazz, while averaging a double-double in those categories for the season.
Golden State has won three of its last four games, as it comes off a 96-85 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves as three-point home favorites, while going UNDER the total for a second consecutive contest. The Warriors were led by Klay Thompson scoring a season-high 24 points, as he’s averaged 21.0 points on 50 percent shooting from the field over his last three games. “It’s good to see him shooting with confidence,” stated Warriors coach Mark Jackson. Golden State is 0-2 ATS as a home underdog of three points or less this season, which can’t be ignored when making your NBA picks against the spread on Thursday night.
The Warriors are led offensively by point guard Stephen Curry, who is averaging 18.4 points and 5.5 assists, which has been made possible by scoring 20-plus points in seven games this year. Golden State is 4-2 at Oracle Arena this year, but has split four games versus conference foes. This will be the third matchup between these two rivals in a span of 20 days, with tonight’s host failing to cover the spread in each affair.
Sports bettors will likely back the Nuggets due to their 4-1 ATS mark on the road in this series, while the Warriors are 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
