The Los Angeles Clippers are 5-3 and will travel to face Eric Bledsoe and the Phoenix Suns in the second of a double-headers on TNT. Odds favored the Clippers by 3-points in the game which has an over/under of 207.
The Clippers have lost three of its past four games, with the lone win coming 94-92 over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Clippers have surrendered 113 points per game in the three losses, with the Dallas Mavs racking the Clips for 118 while the Clips scored 110 in the loss.
J.J. Redick is out for tonight’s game, and that 14.8 points per game will have to be made up for. He is suffering from back spasms and Doc Rivers said it “isn’t good,” while giving no time table for Redick’s return.
Blake Griffin has been sensational, with a 27.6 point per game average to go with 9.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.13 blocks/steals while posting a PER of 30.1.
Chris Paul has struggled with his shot, hitting just 41.9 percent and averaging 15.7 points and eight assists per game in 32.6 minutes per game. Jamal Crawford has seen his minutes curtailed with both Lance Stephenson and Paul Pierce in the mix, and his average has fallen to 10.1 points and 21 minutes a night. Pierce and Stephenson average 11.6 combined.

The Phoenix Suns are 3-4 and coming off losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons. In the 124-103 loss to Phoenix, Markieff Morris hit just 7 of 20 from the field while Eric Bledsoe had a good game going 10 of 15 en route to 28 points and 11 assists.
Kevin Durant battered the Suns for 32 points on 12 of 19 shooting, and posted a +32 in his 32 minutes.
Morris is averaging 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks/steals per game in 27 minutes a night. After expressing discontentment and a desire to be traded over the offseason, he has produced if not ever so inefficiently so. His 9.88 PER is low and a reflection of his 36 percent field goal percentage and 26 percent three-point shooting.
Bledsoe is having a much better season averaging 21.9 points, 6.1 assists and 2.85 blocks/steals per game. Brandon Knight has adapted to life in Phoenix and is nearly producing as well as he did in Milwaukee, with 17.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in a team-high 35.1 minutes per game.
The Suns have a nice collection of talent and have a good chance of winning this game as 3-point dogs. The Clippers are going to miss Redick as much as Doc Rivers fears, and Stephenson and Pierce may not be what the team needs to stay afloat in the West.
