It’s weird to see a guy that only played 11 games at Duke make such a smooth transition as a 19 year old pro, but it is clear Irving has “special” written all over him. So far, he has posted 13.3 points per game and 5.5 assists per night. His shot selectino could use some improvement; he is shooting under 40% from the floor, but it is an encouraging start to the season. Augustin’s stat line is very comparable, with 14.3 ppg and 6.3 apg, while also shooting an ugly 36.7%. Really, we hope better for Irving than what has become of D.J. Augustin in his first 4 seasons in the NBA.
