The Detroit Pistons defeated the Chicago Bulls handily in game two of the Eastern Conference Semifinals 108- 87. By the end of the first quarter it was 34- 18 and by the half 58- 43. That marked the second home court victory in a row for the East’s first-seed Pistons.
Small forward Tayshaun Prince hit for 25 points in the second game and shooting guard Richard Hamilton was good for 24. Swingman Chris Webber dumped in 22. Hamilton was 2 of 2 from downtown and Chancey Billups, who totaled 14 points, was three of six from the three-point mark.
Forward/center Chris Webber was 10 of 11 (91%) and Rasheed Wallace was four for four from the field. The Pistons shot 53% from the field and the three-point stripe! The team’s 51 rebounds, including 15 offensive ones far outweighed the Bulls 30 and 8. Although the Bulls handled the ball better, they did not convert those opportunities.
The Bulls lost game one by 26 points and two by 21 points. The Pistons now have a six game winning streak in the 2007 playoffs. As they crank it up it will be tough for the Bulls to win one. If they do, game three is most likely to be the one.
