Utah State won big 45-10 over New Mexico last week and it will host Hawaii this week in a game college football oddsmakers do not expect to be close, setting the line a healthy 24-points in favor of the home town Aggies. Utah State is 3-1 in the Mountain West Conference and Hawaii is winless both in the conference (0-5) and on the season (0-7).

The Aggies have a potent offense that is equally dangerous via the run or the pass. The team ranks 26th in the nation in rushing yardage (211.6 per game) and 47th in the pass (253.4 per game), for a team which scores 35.5 points per contest.

Chuckie Keeton has done an admirable job at QB this season and has completed 69.4 percent of his passes with 18 TDs on the season and just two interceptions. Keeton has a cabinet of receiving options that includes Travis Reynolds (15.8 yards per reception, 34 catches), Travis Van Leeuwen (351 yards, three TDs), Bruce Natson (35 rec), Brandon Swindall (21 catches) and Keegan Andersen (10). The backs have been effective, too, with Joey DeMartino averaging 7.0 yards per carry on his 86 attempts this season and Robert Marshall and Joe Hill helping relieve him with solid rushing.

Hawaii surprisingly ranks 21st in the nation in passing yardage, but it is only because it generates so little via the rush, ranking close to last at 75.3 yards per game. The result is an offense that has no variation and doesn’t score a heck of a lot, just 23.6 points per game. Paired with a horrible defense that allows 35.3 points per contest and Hawaii had the recipe for a winless season. The best chance may come in the two military games still on the schedule, Navy on Nov 9 and Army on Nov 30.
