Los Angeles Lakers SG Kobe Bryant has been putting up great numbers on the offensive end this year

Indiana hits the road after splitting a two-game homestand against the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Hornets, while the team has gone OVER the total in three consecutive contests.  Pacers head coach Frank Vogel is hoping that extra practice time has cleaned things up on both sides of the court, considering the franchise is 6-4 ATS when playing with three or more days rest since 2010.  Indiana may also benefit from the road team being 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in this non-conference series.

The Pacers aren’t going to attract a lot of action as an underdog on the pro basketball odds page, considering they’ve gone 2-6 on the road in the early going this year.  Indiana has won two straight against Los Angeles inside the Staples Center, which can’t be ignored due to it being the franchise’s only two wins in the building since it opened in 1999.  Over the last 10 games, the team has allowed just 91.4 points per game on 41.6 percent shooting.

Los Angeles evened up its season record at 7-7 in closing out a three-game road trip with a dominating 115-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks as 1.5-point favorites, while going UNDER the total for the first time in three contests.  The Lakers are 2-2 under new coach Mike D’Antoni, with shooting guard Kobe Bryant flourishing on the offensive end, averaging 26.9 points per game.  “I think the system has a lot to do with it,” stated Bryant his week.  Los Angeles is 6-16 ATS at home when the total is between 195 and 199.5 over the last two-plus seasons.

The Lakers are 6-3 at home this season, which includes a 2-0 mark versus Eastern Conference opponents.  Los Angeles was extremely balanced offensively against Dallas, as it managed to score 115 points without having a single player record at least 20 points.  Bryant should continue his strong play, considering he has averaged 35.0 points in his last three games in this series.

Sports bettors will likely back the Pacers due to their 5-1 ATS mark versus Pacific division opponents, while the Lakers are 1-10 ATS on Tuesdays.
