The last installment. These are the New Year’s Day games and beyond.
Outback Bowl – Iowa -3. The Hawkeyes won five of six. South Carolina looked terrible in their last two, and they can’t stop the run.
Gator Bowl – Nebraska +2.5. I love how Clemson turned their mess of a season around, but Nebraska has been playing better longer, and Bo Pelini is going to be very hungry for this win.
Capital One Bowl – Georgia -7.5. I love the Big Ten and hate the SEC, but I don’t think that this one will be very close unfortunately. Georgia has more speed and more depth, and should win handily.
Rose Bowl – USC – 9.5. Substitute USC for Georgia and Pac-10 for SEC above and you have my feelings about this one. I just don’t see how Penn State can score enough to keep this one close.
Orange Bowl – Cincinnati -2.5. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but I have not been impressed by Beamer ball for a long while now, and Brian Kelly seems like the real deal.
Cotton Bowl – Texas Tech -4.5. I think Texas Tech is angry, and I think they will look to take it out on the opposition in this one. I expect it to get ugly.
Liberty Bowl – East Carolina -3. This is a terrible game that I really don’t care about. I’ll take East Carolina because they won their conference, but I’m not thrilled about it.
Sugar Bowl – Utah +10.5. I respect Alabama, but I think this is just way too many points to give Utah. It would be different if the BCS team had a potent offense, but this is John Parker Wilson we are talking about here.
International Bowl – Buffalo +4.5. Buffalo will essentially have a home crowd, they are riding high after wining a tough conference, and they have a very good coach. I’ll happily take the points.
Fiesta Bowl – Texas -8. Maybe it’s just because I hate Ohio State with all of my might, but I don’t see how Texas doesn’t run away with this one.
GMAC Bowl – Ball State -2.5. I think that Ball State will rebound nicely from their embarrassing loss to Buffalo and prove that they weren’t a joke. This will be a last win for a departing coach.
BCS Championship – Oklahoma +3. I have been loyal to the Big 12 all year, so I can’t stop here. I don’t think that Florida can contain Sam Bradford, so I will happily take the points.
