This article takes a brief look at some of the more favorable lines for player prop bets. I did not select only the premier names, but also some of the more obvious bets, or what appear to be to me. Bets are taken from Bodog.
Brandon Jennings Over/Under 25 pts+ast combined playing against Cleveland
Under. Jennings is averaging under 22 pts+ast right now. Last game against Cleveland he only played 18 minutes, getting 5 pts and 1 asts; however, in the game before that one on March 6th, 2010, he had 25 pts and 6 asts. But that was a different Cleveland team (probably a better one). Jennings will also tire from running around screens chasing Daniel Gibson, Cleveland’s leading scorer. If not guarding Gibson, he’ll be on their second leading scorer Mo Williams.
Corey Maggette Over/Under 15 ppg playing against Cleveland
Under. Maggette is only averaging 12.9 ppg. The thing about Maggette is he will either be way under or way over. He is very inconsistent. Last game he only had 3 points, but the game before that he had 20. I’m going to say Moon frusterates Maggette when in the game.
Jrue Holiday Over/Under 21.5 pts+asts combined playing against Toronto.
Over. Toronto is giving up over 100 points a game. Jrue is averaging 20.8 pts+asts combined so far this year, and Toronto has Calderon at point guard, a notoriously poor defender.
Amar’e Stoudemire Over/Under 32 pts+rebs combined playing against Charlotte
Over. Take away last game and Amar’e is averaging 28.2 ppg and 9.2 rpg. Last game was poor but only because he was in foul trouble and played 5 minutes less than his season average. Charlotte does have Tyrus Thomas to counteract Amare, but more likely is that he abuses Boris Diaw for 30 minutes of the game.
D.J. Augustin Over/Under 21.5 pts+asts combined playing against New York
Over. Last game against the Knicks he had 24 pts and 7 assists, in a fast paced shootout, with the Knicks winning 110-107. D.J. is averaging 20 ppg+apg this season, and he should exceed 22 tonight against the Knicks lack of defense.
LeBron James Over/Under 25.5 pts vs Orlando
Over. LeBron seems to always show up to play against the Magic and Wade is nursing an injury. He will be counted upon heavily and should have a huge night, and by huge I mean more than 26 points.
Dwyane Wade Over/Under 23.5 pts vs Orlando
Under. He had a horrible night last game, going 3 of 13 from the floor, and there is no word that his hand is all the way better yet. He’s going to have to rely on getting to the basket rather than shooting, and the basket will be guarded by Dwight Howard. I’m pretty sure he goes under.
Dwight Howard Over/Under 33.0 pts+rebs combined
Over. Dwight Howard was having his way with Joel Anthony last time against Miami, but Orlando went away from going to him in the second half. Now, with Zydrunas Ilgauskas starting, Howard will punish the Heat even more, as Ilgauskas has always had a lot of trouble with Howard.
Manu Ginobilli Over/Under 19.5 pts vs Minnesota
Over. Provided he gets the number of minutes necessary to put up these numbers, he will.
The only real concern is if the game is well in hand by mid way through the third quarter, that he will not play enough to exceed the point total.
