Though the Tigers have 8 wins the only semi-quality win is over South Florida. UTEP leads the series 2-0 against Auburn but they haven’t played since 1986.

Auburn is 2-2 against the spread and the total is 1-3 this season. UTEP is 6-1 ATS and the total is 3-4 this season. The Miners are 5-0 ATS overall, against teams with winning records, and in non-conference games, 4-1 after a straight up loss, and 7-2 after a cover. The Tigers are 7-1-1 after a double digit loss, 6-1 after failing to cover, 18-6-2 after a straight-up loss, 6-2 against teams with losing records, and after a straight up loss of 20 points or more, 5-2 after scoring 50 points or less, and 0-5-1 in neutral site games.
Auburn has fattened up on cupcakes so far this season, and has a gaudy 8-2 straight up record to show for it. UTEP meanwhile has played a very demanding schedule and has a 5-6 record. That explains why UTEP is a slight favorite in this neutral site contest. The Miners are very young but talented, and I like them to win a close game against the untested Tigers.
