Colorado remains on the Pac-12 Conference road for a second straight week against a second consecutive opponent, coming off a 50-6 setback to the USC Trojans as 39.5-point road underdogs. The Buffaloes have lost their last three games, as they’ve been out-gained by a triple-digit yardage margin in each of those contests. The program has lost 19 straight games against ranked opponents on the road, with the last such victory coming in 2002. Colorado is 1-10 ATS in October over the last two-plus seasons.
The Buffaloes are traveling to the state of Oregon for the first time in 26 years, as they look to gain revenge from a 45-2 loss as 30.5-point home underdogs in last year’s meeting. Through games of October 20, Colorado is tied for sixth nationally with the most true freshmen played with 13. Junior quarterback Jordan Webb will need to bounce back from throwing three interceptions last week, but he’s only managed to complete 55.7 percent of his passes on the year.
Oregon has a perfect 7-0 record on the year and comes off a dominating 43-21 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils as 8.5-point road favorites, while going UNDER the total for the first time in three contests. The Ducks have won the statistical battle in every game this year, but they’ve still compiled a losing 3-4 ATS record through seven games. Oregon is 2-7 ATS as a favorite of 31 or more points since 2010, including three misses in that situation during the 2012 campaign.
The Ducks rank second in the country in scoring 51.0 points per game and eighth in total yards at 529.1 per contest. Kenjon Barner has really settled into the role of being the team’s featured back, as he gained 143 yards and hit pay dirt three times against the Sun Devils. Redshirt freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota is getting better with every snap, which has led the team to win games by an average of 32.3 points on the season.
Sports bettors will likely back the Ducks due to their 23-7-1 ATS mark in October, while the Buffaloes are 2-10 ATS versus teams with a winning record.
