The Utah State Aggies are 11-3-1 ATS on the road since 2011

Utah State has won 12 straight conference games dating back to the 2011 season, which happens to best a school record.  The Aggies will be looking to bounce back from a 17-14 defeat to the USC Trojans as 6.5-point road underdogs last Saturday, but they did manage to win the statistical battle by three years in that affair.  Junior quarterback Chuckie Keeton currently ranks tied for second in the nation along with Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater with 14 touchdown passes on the season.  Utah State is 8-7 SU and 11-3-1 ATS on the road the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 8-7 in that situation.

The Aggies entered the 2013 campaign as the second-most experienced team in the nation, as they welcomed back 13 seniors and seven juniors who have started games.  Utah State returned all five of its starters on the offensive line from a year ago, which is important to consider when making your college football picks in Week 5, as the group has combined for 130 career starts.  On the other side of the ball, the team has limited its opponents to just 14.3 points and just 230.0 yards of total offense.

San Jose State returns home after suffering back-to-back losses on the road, including a 43-24 setback to the Minnesota Golden Gophers as four-point underdogs last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total of 51.  The Spartans are 20-14-1 all-time against the Aggies, but they’ve dropped the last four games in the series, including a 49-27 defeat as 2.5-point underdogs last year.  It’s important to point out that the squad racked up 486 yards of total offense last week, which included 439 of those yards coming through the air.  San Jose State is 6-9 SU and 12-3 ATS as underdogs since 2011, with the UNDER going 9-6 in those 15 opportunities.

The Spartans will need to protect quarterback David Fales in this matchup, as he was sacked 13 times by the Aggies in last year’s meeting.  He ranks second in the nation with a 164.85 career passer efficiency rating—trailing only Oregon Ducks signal-caller Marcus Mariota in that category.

Sports bettors will likely back the Aggies due to their 15-5-1 ATS mark in their last 21 games.
