Troy has dropped its first three games of the 2014 campaign, including a 38-35 setback to Abilene Christian as 11-point home favorites last Saturday, while it has also lost the statistical battle in each of its affairs.  The Trojans are averaging just 20.7 points per game and giving up 40 per contest, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 4 college football picks, especially since the Bulldogs are averaging 40 points per game despite playing two ranked teams already this year.  Troy is 0-5 SU and 4-1 ATS as underdogs of 31 or more points in its last five games in that situation.

The Trojans have been outscored by an average of 21.7 points in losing 12 straight to ranked opponents since a victory over Missouri in 2004, with 11 of those setbacks coming on the road.  Troy also has to deal with a Georgia team that has compiled a 36-1 SU record at home versus non-conference opponents under longtime head coach Mark Richt.

Georgia has split its first two games of the season, as it attempts to bounce back from a 38-35 defeat to the South Carolina Gamecocks as 6.5-point road favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total in each of those contests.  The Bulldogs are being led defensively by the play of senior linebackers Amarlo Herrera and Ramik Wilson, who average averaging double-digit tackles again and rank as the top two in that statistical category in the Southeastern Conference.  Georgia is 5-0 SU and 0-5 ATS as favorites of 31 or more points since 2012, with the OVER going 3-1-1 in those five opportunities.

The Bulldogs should be able to run the ball effectively in this matchup, considering the Trojans are allowing an average of 233.7 rushing yards per game, which means that Todd Gurley will likely continue to be a Heisman Trophy contender.  He ran for 131 yards on 20 carries against the Gamecocks, while also running for a career-high 198 yards in a season-opening win against the Clemson Tigers.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 5-0 in the Bulldogs last five meetings against Sun Belt Conference opponents.
