The Indiana Hoosiers earned a 42-10 victory over Bowling Green in 2013

Indiana hits the road for the first time this season, as it looks to build off a 28-10 win over Indiana State as 33-point home favorites on Aug. 30—winning the statistical battle by 396 yards.  The Hoosiers own a 37-8-1 SU all-time record against Mid-American Conference opponents, which is important to consider when making your Week 3 college football picks.  The team earned a 42-10 victory over Bowling Green as 2.5-point home favorites in the first meeting between the two programs.  Indiana is 4-3 SU and 1-5 ATS as road favorites of 3.5 to 7 points since 2012.

The Hoosiers have improved their win total in each of Kevin Wilson’s first three seasons on campus, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds.  Indiana has plenty of offensive weapons, with quarterback Nate Sudfeld being the main player to watch, as he finished with 355 yards on 17-of-26 passing with two touchdowns in the season opener.  The school’s 2013 offense set single-season records with 6,102 total yards and 361 points scored.

Bowling Green has split its first two games of the 2014 campaign, as it comes off a 48-7 win over the Virginia Military Institute in its home opener.  James Knapke made his first career start as a quarterback for the Falcons last time out—completing 22 of 31 passes for 237 passing yards and accounting for two total touchdowns.  Wide receiver Roger Lewis was his main target, as he caught six passes for a career high 140 yards.  Bowing Green is 2-6 SU and 4-4 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons.

The Falcons have a 5-16 record against Big Ten Conference opponents, as they get set to play back-to-back games in that situation, with a road game against the Wisconsin Badgers on Sept. 20.  Bowling Green is still learning a new system under first-year head coach Dino Babers, who was named Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year twice in his two campaigns at Eastern Illinois.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 5-1 in the Hoosiers’ last six September games.
