Temple has dropped three of its last four games, including a 16-13 decision to the Memphis Tigers as 7.5-point home underdogs on Nov. 7, while going UNDER the betting total three times in that span.  The Owls are 3-38-1 SU all-time in this series, which is important to consider when making your Week 12 college football betting picks,  while the last six installments of this matchup have fallen short of the total.  Temple is 5-10 SU and 9-6 ATS on the road the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 8-5 in that situation.

The Owls are one of eight teams who are averaging over 27 points a game and allowing less than 18.2 in the country, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting lines.  Through nine games of the season, Temple leads the American Athletic Conference in four defensive categories, with the biggest one being three-and-outs.  It’s important to point out that the school has tallied 25 takeaways—broken down to 17 fumble recoveries and eight interceptions.

Penn State snapped a four-game losing streak in picking up a 13-7 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers as six-point road favorites last week, while capturing the statistical battle for a second consecutive contest.  The Nittany Lions are holding their opponents to 15.6 points below their season scoring average during the 2014 campaign, as the stop unit is limiting foes to just 85.6 rushing yards per contest.  Penn State is 6-4 SU and 3-6-1 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 10 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Nittany Lions have been getting great production out of running back Bill Belton recently, as he gained 137 yards on 16 carries last week—his fourth career 100-yard rushing performance since arriving on campus.  Penn State has the ability to be balanced due to the presence of Christian Hackenberg under center, who has completed 195-of-347 passes for 2,206 yards and seven touchdowns with 12 interceptions.

Sports bettors will likely back the Owls due to their 5-4 ATS mark in weeks 10 through 13 the last two-plus seasons.
