The West Virginia Mountaineers have scored 30-plus points in eight straight games

West Virginia had its four-game winning streak snapped last time out, as it suffered a 31-30 setback to the TCU Horned Frogs as 3.5-point home underdogs, while going UNDER the betting total for a fifth consecutive contest.  The Mountaineers have established a school record for scoring 30 or more points in eight consecutive games, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 11 college football predictions, with quarterback Clint Trickett performing at a high level.  He ranks fourth in the country with 2,925 passing yards and 24th with 18 touchdowns.  West Virginia is 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 10 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Mountaineers have one of the top perimeter weapons in the country in wide receiver Kevin White, which is important to consider when looking over the college football odds, as he’s averaging 8.3 receptions and 119.4 receiving yards per game.  West Virginia has faced four top-10 opponents in 2014, but it has still managed to average 5.0 three-and-outs per game from its stop unit.

Texas has alternated wins and losses over its last four games, but it returns home after picking up a 34-13 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders as 3.5-point road favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total for a second consecutive contest.  The Longhorns will look to get the running game going once again, as they ran for a season-high 241 yards last time out, while they posted a season-best 10 pass breakups defensively.  Texas is 4-9 SU and 6-7 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 9-4 in that situation.

The Longhorns rank 37th in the country in allowing 352.4 yards per game, with much of that success coming from the secondary, as opponents are throwing for just 177.3 yards a contest.  Texas has been very happy with the recent play of quarterback Tyrone Swoopes, who has completed 59.3 percent of his passes for 1,723 yards and nine touchdowns with five interceptions in the team’s last eight games.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the UNDER is 10-1 in the Longhorns’ last 11 games in November.
