NC State has dropped its last four games, including a 30-18 setback to the Louisville Cardinals as 19-point road underdogs on Oct. 18, while losing the statistical battle in all of those affairs. The Wolfpack have taken a youthful approach to the 2014 campaign, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 10 college football predictions, as they’ve had seven different true freshmen earning starts—the fourth-highest total in the nation. The program has won six of seven all-time meetings in this series. NC State is 0-5 SUATS as underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 4-1 in that situation.
The Wolfpack had numerous players out of action in their last contest, which is important to consider when looking over the college football betting lines, as it traveled without 10 players who were listed on its two-deep depth chart to begin the year. NC State continues to strive for balance offensively, as it has gained 1,446 yards on the ground and 1,804 through the air. For the season, the team has averaged 6.8 yards on first down in 2014.
Syracuse has gone 1-2 SU and 3-0 ATS in its last three games, as it looks to bounce back from a 16-6 defeat to the Clemson Tigers as 16.5-point road underdogs last week, while going UNDER the betting total for the fourth time in five contests. The Orange have had four different 100-yard rushers this season—the first time they’ve accomplished such a feat in 35 years. It’s also important to point out that 17 players have made their first career start this season. Syracuse is 6-2 SU and 8-0 ATS off a loss against a conference rival.
The Orange are the only team in the country to rank in the top 10 of the FBS for most fumbles recovered and fewest fumbles lost. Syracuse is 15-8 SU in games decided by seven or fewer points, including a 3-2 mark during the Scott Shafer era on campus. The program has compiled a 129-79-2 all-time record when playing at the Carrier Dome.
Sports bettors will likely back the Orange due to their 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS mark in November the last two-plus seasons.
