The Louisville Cardinals will be looking for their first-ever 9-0 start to a season on Saturday

Temple is looking to upset a nationally ranked opponent for the first time since 1998, as it comes off a 47-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers as 6.5-point road underdogs, while going OVER the last two games.  The Owls have lost 29 straight games when facing an AP Top 25 squad, which will make it hard for any college football handicappers to predict a straight-up victory.  Temple is 6-4 ATS as an underdog the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 7-3 in that situation.

The Owls will need a big game out of running back Montel Harris, as the senior leads the team with 463 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 106 carries.  Saturday’s game will mark the sixth meeting in this series, with Temple owning a 3-2 advantage.  Head coach Steve Addazio was the offensive coordinator when Louisville’s Charlie Strong ran the defense at Florida.

Louisville has won the last two meetings in this series, including a 62-0 victory as 40-point road favorites on Sept. 9, 2006.  The Cardinals are one of six unbeaten teams in the country, coming off a 34-31 overtime win over the Cincinnati Bearcats, while winning the statistical battle in that contest by a 171-yard margin.  The program is focused on trying to go 4-0 in Big East Conference play for the first time in school history.  Louisville is 2-3 ATS as a favorite of 10.5 to 21 points the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 3-2 in that situation.

The Cardinals are 5-0 inside Papa John’s Stadium this year, pushing Strong’s record to 11-7 inside the venue.  Louisville has tallied a 5-3 record in the month of November under his direction, while going OVER the total in five of those contests.  Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is the player to watch offensively, as he ranks 12th in college football with a 163.4 passer rating.  He will try to lead the program to its first-ever 9-0 start to a season.

Sports bettors will likely back the Cardinals due to their 8-3 ATS mark in conference games, while the Owls are 1-4 ATS after allowing 450 total yards or more.
