Notre Dame is 7-1 on the season and will travel to face a tough Arizona State team that has gone 7-1 thus far. The Fighting Irish find itself 2.5 point underdogs to Arizona State in a game college football odds also show a 60-point total on the over/under betting.
The Fighting Irish’s lone loss of the season came Oct. 18 against then- No. 2 Florida State. Last week, the Fighting Irish held off Navy and won 49-39. The offense has been great for Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish average 35.4 points per game on the strength of a pass offense that ranks 26th in the nation with 288.9 yards per game. The rush hasn’t been too shabby either, accounting for 169.4 yards per game.
Defensively, Notre Dame has been solid too. The Fighting Irish allow just 21.6 pions per game, though the Irish have allowed 113 points in the last three weeks to UNC, FSU and Navy. Despite that, the Irish still prevailed in two of those three games. QB Everett Golson has thrown for 2,311 yards on the season with 22 TDs and just seven INTs. His 62.8 percent completion ratio and 7.89 yards per reception help account for a very high passer rating of 149.
Leading receiver William Fuller has caught for 599 yards and nine TDs, but the Irish have three other receivers with about 300 yards or more on the season, including Corey Robinson who has caught for four TDs on the year. In the backfield, Tarean Folston has been very solid, averaging 5.3 yards per carry, while QB Golson rushes for 3.5 yards but has 272 yards on the season.
The Arizona State Sun Devils are riding a four-game win streak that has seen Arizona State take down three ranked opponents in USC, Stanford and Utah. Last week, the Sun Devils won by a field goal in OT against Utah. The offense has averaged 34.4 points per game, while the Sun Devils surrender 24 per game.
Taylor Kelly has been mediocre at QB the last two weeks for the Sun Devils, though he has thrown two INTs over the last two games. He started the season on fire, but after missing three weeks he’s struggled returning from injury.
In the Sun Devils’ first three games, he posted a passer rating of 152 or higher in all three, but his 114.1 was week with just 56 percent completions falls far short of his early season dominance.
