When it seemed nothing could go wrong for the No. 2 Florida State Seminoles, the off-field distractions and scandals found a way to manifest themselves and put a dark cloud over a 10-0 season that previously was marked with only championship aspirations. Jameis Winston is linked in a sexual assault case, but the team will try to remain focused on destroying a poor Idaho team that college football oddsmakers at Bovada find to be 57-point underdogs.
Winston has been sensational on-field. He’s helped the team win 59-3 in back-to-back weeks and the team has scored at least 41 points every game this season. He’s thrown for nearly 3,000 yards, but it remains to be seen if he gets Heisman votes with the scandal now surrounding his name.
Idaho has been very poor defensively this season and allowed 59 points to Old Dominion, so there is every chance for FSU to run the score up in this one. Idaho allows 45.7 points per game and FSU averages 52.7, which means the 69-point total could still be low yet.
Idaho’s lone win of the season came against a very poor Temple team, and despite having decent offensive stats (362.5 yards per game), the Vandals haven’t been good at finding the end zone. The team averages just 18.3 points per game this season, which ranks near the bottom of all D-1 schools (115th).
Idaho Trends: OVER 4-0 in last 4 after accumulating more than 450 total yards in previous game; OVER 5-0 in last 5 following SU loss of more than 20 points; 0-5 ATS vs teams with winning records.
Florida State Trends: OVER 3-0-1 in last 4 vs teams with losing road records; OVER 8-0 in last 8 following ATS win; OVER 7-0-1 in last 8 after allowing less than 275 total yards in previous game.
