Michigan has won four games in a row since suffering its only setback of the season, as it comes off a convincing 68-46 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats as 15-point home favorites, while going UNDER the total in five of its last six contests.  The Wolverines are led by guard Trey Burke on the offensive end, who is averaging 17.9 points and 7.1 assists per game.  “I know guys are ready,” stated Burke this week about this particular matchup.  The team’s 20-1 start is the best in program history, which can’t be ignored when making your college basketball picks against the spread.  Michigan is 22-11 ATS as an underdog the last two-plus seasons.

The Wolverines have gone 23-19 away from Ann Arbor over the last three seasons, which is important to consider when looking over the college basketball betting lines Saturday night.  Michigan is averaging 78.0 points per game, which currently ranks as the highest per-game average under coach John Beilein since he arrived on campus,  The team has won its 20 games this year by an average margin of 19.4 points per game, which is the third-best point differential in the country.

Indiana has also won four consecutive games entering the first-ever matchup between two teams ranked in the top three in the history of Assembly Hall, as it comes off a 97-60 blowout victory over the Purdue Boilermakers as 7.5-point road favorites.  The Hoosiers have compiled a dominating 31-2 record at this venue over the last two years, which includes a 2-1 ATS mark as favorites of 3.5 to 6 points.  Indiana is 2-6 ATS versus Big Ten Conference foes during the 2012-13 campaign.

The Hoosiers have been led by Victor Oladipo recently, as he averaged 20.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games last week, which earned him conference honors for that period.  Indiana leads the nation in outscoring opponents by 23.5 points per game, as its offense enters averaging 84.0 points per game.  Sophomore center Cody Zeller is another key player to watch, averaging 16.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Sports bettors will likely back the Hoosiers due to the home team covering the spread in five of the last seven meetings in this series.
