Arizona has won four of its last five games, but comes off a 77-69 setback to the California Golden Bears as 13-point home favorites last time out, while going OVER the total in its last three contests. “They played the best against our defense as any team has played all season,” commented Wildcats coach Sean Miller. “That’s our team strength.” The Wildcats are limiting foes to 39.5 percent shooting in their seven true road games this year, which is important to consider when looking over the college basketball betting lines Thursday night. Arizona is 3-8 ATS versus Pac-12 Conference opponents this year.
The Wildcats aren’t going to be one of the better college basketball picks against the spread in this spot, considering three of their last seven trips to Boulder have been decided by three points or less. Arizona is 5-3 in this series when playing in Tucson, but just 1-6 when heading to Colorado. Offensively, the team leads the conference in averaging 7.7 3-point makers per game, but will be facing an opponent that limits foes to 32.5 percent shooting from that area.
Colorado’s 16-7 record matches last year’s mark through 23 games, as the squad has won five of its last six contests, including a 72-68 victory over the Oregon State Beavers as two-point road underdogs. The Buffaloes have four probable starters averaging in double figures, with sophomore guard Spencer Dinwiddie leading the way, scoring 14.2 points per game. The program has won 11 of 17 games decided by 10 points or less this season, but dropped a 92-83 overtime decision as 12.5-point road underdogs in the first meeting with Arizona. Colorado is 2-0 SUATS in its last two opportunities as home underdogs of three points or less.
The Buffaloes lead the Pac-12 in allowing just 64.2 points per game during conference play, while they also pace all teams in allowing opponents to shoot just 40.6 percent from the field. Colorado is 9-1 at home this season and 41-5 at the Coors Events Center under its current coaching staff.
Sports bettors will likely back the Buffaloes due to their 5-1 ATS run in conference play, while the Wildcats are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games.
