Fordham has lost all four road games this year and is coming off an 80-65 loss to Monmouth on Saturday. The Rams will be playing their third game of a four-game road trip Monday night, heading to Madison Square Garden this weekend to take on the St. John’s Red Storm. Heading into its last game, the program had three players averaging in double figures, with junior forward Chris Gaston leading the way with 13.4 points per game. Fordham is 3-19 ATS as a road underdog of 6.5 to 9 points.
The Rams have been known to cause a few turnovers early on this season, ranking fourth in the Atlantic 10 and 27th nationally in picking up 8.6 steals per game. Fordham has caused in average of 15.9 turnovers per game, which is the third-best mark in the conference. Gaston is certainly the star of the show offensively, becoming the 34th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. He’s also landed in the top 20 in terms of rebounding.
Siena is set to meet Fordham for the 20th time this evening and will have a chance to tie the all-time series at 10 wins apiece. The Saints have won three of the last four, including a 64-55 win as one-point home underdogs on Nov. 28, 2005. Playing teams from the Atlantic 10 hasn’t gone very well historically, coming in with a 35-60 record against the current members of the league. It’s important to note that the mark includes a 6-27 record versus rival Saint Bonaventure. Siena is 0-8 ATS when the total is 120-129.5 the last two-plus years.
The Saints have lost six of their last seven games, with five of the losses coming by seven points or less. Siena dropped an 82-78 contest to UMass last time out, but managed to set a season-high in points in the defeat. Offensively, the team ranks ninth in the MAAC with 59.9 points per game. Freshman players are really making their mark on the roster, accounting for 45 percent of the team’s scoring. Fans should definitely focus in on power forward OD Anosike, who leads the conference and ranks second nationally with 12.1 rebounds per game.
Bettors will likely back the Saints due to the home team being 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, while the Rams are 5-15-1 ATS on the road.
