The Wisconsin Badgers are leading the nation in scoring defense during the 2011-12 campaign

Bradley will be meeting Wisconsin for just the fifth time despite the two teams being separated by just 203 miles, as the team gets ready to square off against a ranked foe for the 146th time.  The Braves have tallied a 52-93 record in those contests, with the most recent win coming over Northern Iowa on Feb. 13, 2010 at Carver Arena.  Junior guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards leads the team offensively, scoring in double-digits four times, averaging 16.2 points in his last 14 games since returning from a knee sprain last December during the 2010 campaign.  Bradley is 18-19 ATS as an underdog the last two-plus years.

The Braves have beaten a school from one of the power six BCS leagues in five of their last six seasons.  Bradley owns a 30-54 all-time record against the 12 current schools in the Big Ten Conference.  In order to stay competitive in this particular matchup, the team must start shooting the ball better behind the arc, hitting just 25.5 percent of its shots from three-point range.

Wisconsin enters with a 4-0 record and is holding opponent to an incredible 34 points per game, which leads the nation.  The Badgers are limiting teams to just 28.3 percent shooting from the floor, which also leads the Big Ten Conference.  Offensively, the squad is shooting 47.9 percent from three-point range, ranking seventh in the nation and averaging 11.3 triples per contest.  The scoring has been very balanced, with all five projected starters for tonight’s game averaging over 6.7 points a game.  Wisconsin is 4-9 ATS in tournament action the past two-plus campaigns.

The Badgers defensive performance is nothing new around these parts, ranking fourth nationally in limiting teams to 58.6 points per game a year ago.  Wisconsin has been among the top 10 teams in that particular category in seven of the last nine seasons.  Taking care of the basketball is also important for coach Bo Ryan, turning the ball ofer just 7.59 times per game a season ago, with this year’s unit sitting around that number (7.7) through four games.

Bettors will likely back the Badgers due to their 6-2 ATS mark in non-conference action, while the Braves are 5-11 ATS in the same situation.
