To be honest, the season is long since over for both the Bobcats and Pistons, but that doesn’t mean there’s no reason to bet on this game. The Pistons find themselves five point favorites against a team that likely couldn’t win the NCAA Tournament, and will be lucky to add the MOP of that tournament in Anthony Davis. Bobcats fans are already licking their chops at that prospect and Larry Brown feels that Davis could transform even the Bobcats into a 50 win team. That’s likely a stretch, but at this point that’s all there is to look forward to.
The game will feature a matchup between two very good centers, though, if nothing else. Bismack Biyombo of the Bobcats has shown himself to be a premier shot blocker (1.7 blocks per game in 21 mins of play) and Greg Monroe is the best least exciting player to come through the Pistons organization in a long time. Monroe may pair nicely with Brandon Knight in time, and the same can be said for Biyombo and UCONN product Kemba Walker, but bot these teams are years away from being anywhere near relevant.
