Not a lot has gone right for 2-7 Iowa State this year. The Cyclones have been outscored 93-28 in the last two weeks against Oklahoma and Kansas, but will be 1.5 point favorites to another doormat, Texas Tech this week, according to college football odds listed at Bovada.

The Cyclones have been bad on both ends of the football. This year, Iowa State manages just 24.4 points per game while surrendering 37.8 per game.

The rush game has been particularly woeful, accounting for just 111 yards per game. Last week against Kansas, Iowa State got just 98 rushing yards while failing to get a TD from its backfield.

QB Grant Rohach was 25-of-50 for 275 yards, but had just 5.5 yards per attempt to go with his 50 percent ratio. He also threw a pick and the Cyclones were just 7-of-16 on third down and 1-of-3 on fourths, with a total time of possession at just 22 minutes. Kansas had 514 yards on a defense that has seldom held opponents to anything less.

The Cyclones will be looking for its first Big 12 victory this week against Tech, though, who has compiled a far more impressive 1-6 mark. The Raiders have also been on fire of late, as losers of its past three contests. Granted, all three were tough foes, but the Raiders have bene outscored 158 to 70 against TCU, Texas and Oklahoma.

One thing the Raiders have done well is pass the football, ranking 6th in the nation with 327.6 passing yards per game. 28 points per game isn’t too bad either, but with a defense that allows 41.6 points per game, that’s not going to result in many victories.

QB Davis Webb is questionable to play this week after missing last week too, with an ankle injury. Webb has been solid, having thrown for 2,539 yards this season at a 61.2 percent clip while scoring 24 TDs to 13 INTs. His top six receiving targets all have 200 yards or more, and Jakeem Grant has 760 yards and six TDs.

No. 2 WR Bradley Marquez leads the team in TDs (7), with 686 yards and 12.3 yards per catch. Devin Lauderdale leads the team in yards per catch (16.4) and has also scored four TDs.

While Texas Tech has scored 30 passing TDs this season, the Raiders have only managed seven rush TDs, four of which have gone to Justin Stockton, who also leads the team in yards per carry (8.9), and had a 75-yard TD trek earlier this season.
