Baylor owns a 10-game winning streak and has not lost since Nov. 10, 2012, as it comes off a 71-7 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones as 33-point home favorites last Saturday.  The Bears lead the country in total and scoring offense, averaging 714.3 yards and 64.7 points per game, which is important to consider when making your college football betting picks in Week 9.  The program is off to a 6-0 start for the first time since 1980, while it owns a 3-0 record in Big 12 Conference play for the first time in program history.  Baylor is 3-1 SU and 0-4 ATS as road favorites the last two-plus seasons.

The Bears are one of three FBS teams ranked among the top 12 in total offense and total defense—joining the Florida State Seminoles and Wisconsin Badgers in that elite club.  Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty leads the country with a 221.8 pass efficiency rating, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page.  Running back Lache Seastrunk is also a key player to handicap offensively, as he sits atop the conference charts in averaging 126.7 rushing yards per game.

Kansas has lost three games in a row, including a 34-19 defeat to the Oklahoma Sooners as 21-point home underdogs last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total of 49.5.  The Jayhawks are averaging just 18.3 points per game, which pales in comparison to their upcoming opponent in that category.  Controlling the football will be the team’s only chance in covering this number, with running back James Sims averaging 86.5 yards per game.  Kansas is 5-11 SU and 8-8 ATS at home since 2011, with the UNDER going 7-6 in that situation.

The Jayhawks certainly have some depth in the running game, with sophomore Darrian Miller amassing 217 yards on 44 carries in 2013, including a career-best 38 yards last week against the Sooners.  Kansas has also recorded an interception in each of the first six games this season.  The program ranks 37th nationally and fourth in the Big 12 with eight picks.

Sports bettors will likely back the Jayhawks due to the home team being 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in this series.
