It’s amazing the kind of talent turnover we see with a program like Duke. Most programs,  never mind how happy they would be to have the kind of players Duke gets to begin with, would be devastated to lose two top tier seniors and the best freshman in the nation to the NBA Draft, but Duke is going to have the claim of having brought in the #1 Prospect of all high school students, Austin Rivers. He’s coming out of Winter Park and is well known for being the son of NBA legend and current Celtics coach Doc Rivers, and he should be far better than his father, much as Stephen Curry is to his father, Dell.

College Basketball 2011-2012 Team Previews: Syracuse Orange

Kris Joseph and the Orange are predicted to be at the top of the Big East again
Much like Connecticut, the last Big East team we covered in these previews here at Maddux Sports, Syracuse is going to be trying to compensate all year for the loss of a stud player. That player is of course Rick Jackson, who last season played a team high 35.9 minutes per game while leading the Big East in rebounding, blocked shots, and field goal percentage.

2K Classic Opening Round Play: Duquesne Dukes vs. Arizona Wildcats

The Dukes return an all freshman backcourt from lat year and they finished 4th in the Atlantic-10 Conference. It was their highest conference finish since ’94 and they now have put together their fourth straight 15 win season. Guard TJ McConnell won A-10 Rookie of the year, by scoring 10.8 points per game and dishing out 4.4 assists per game. He did so in 30.6 minutes a game, the highest of all returning players.
