If you’re looking for an upset during the first round of the NFL Playoffs and you think a big spread is the way to go, then the visiting New York Jets at +9.5 in New England may be for you. But I’m no expert.
It’s time for the Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and LSU. You can catch Brady Quinn and company as they take on JaMarcus Russell and his squad. There’s a lot at stake for the Fighting Irish and for Quinn. Since 1994, Notre Dame has been in eight bowl games and has lost them all, including a 20 to 34 beating last year by Ohio State in the Fiesta.
In pre-season writings, everyone agreed that the NBA Atlantic Division was the weakest in the league. But not as weak as this—there is not one club in the division with a winning record. The NCAA basketball conference games are just starting to be played with most teams having accumulated a number of non-conference wins and loses. If you check out the 16- team Big East standings, you see a strange site—West Virginia on top of the conference at 1- 0 in the Big East and 11- 1 overall and Connecticut at the bottom at 0- 1 in the BE and 11- 1 overall.
